A Christmas of War and Sisterhood
“Beneath Dutch Skies: A Christmas of War and Sisterhood” follows three sisters: Annaeliese, Ingrid, and Marijke van der Meer, living in the Netherlands during World War II and struggling to endure the harsh winter of Christmas 1944. As the war closes in around them, the sisters are pulled in different directions by the brutality of occupation. Annaeliese, the eldest, joins the resistance, risking everything to protect those she loves. Ingrid, the middle sister, battles fear and uncertainty about loved ones fighting on the front, while trying desperately to hold what’s left of her family together. Marijke, the youngest, faces the loss of her childhood and the threat of betrayal. Bound by love, the sisters confront trials of loss, sacrifice, and the fear that their family may never be reunited. Their experience is a testament to resilience, hope, and the unbreakable strength of family in the darkest of times.
